It's July 4th weekend this week! And if you want to go out and watch fireworks, you know it's going to be hot and crowded, but I have the perfect outfit solutions!

You can't go wrong with a crop top when it's hot! So this weekend, find a simple crop top or grab an old tee shirt and make your own! DIY are always fun! I found this top from Topshop quite cute and appropriate (the sort of red and white colors) for the weekend!

Relief for your feet! Normally every July 4 I find myself walking and standing for hours, so comfortable shoes are a definite must! This year, try this:

Vibrant Vibes

My favorite collections right now just happen to be the brightest and most vibrant! Raf Simons created a colorful garden party for the Jil Sanders Menswear spring 2011 collection, and Donatella Versace brought back playful sixties inspired style for Versace's resort 2011 collection. Donatella created the collection with a sixties spy girl and I can see her collection as an edgier Austin Powers movie!


Although I can't wear anything from the Jil Sander collection, I am obsessed with menswear. I'm in love with the entire collection and how the colors almost looked like they glow in the dark coming down the runway. Color seems to be the biggest detail and adds the perfect touch to all the pieces!

If I Were A Boy

The other day I made a trip to the mall to look for a Father's Day present and my first stop was at J.Crew, which I must say that one of my favorite stores! Not only are the window displays eye catching but also the clothes inside are always of great quality and well presented. I'm always most impressed with the menswear in the store and I was searching for a shirt for my dad I found myself obsessing and wanting to buy every other shirt I saw! I can honestly say that their menswear sometimes makes me wish I was a boy, just so I could shop there for myself. I ended up deciding on one of J.Crew's utility shirts, but here are a few other things I fell in love with while I was there!

Going Retro

It seems like the world is on a constant search for what's new, but why not try going vintage for the summer? Lately, the weather has been perfect for trips to the beach so I've been searching online for a cute bikini/bathing suit! As I was browsing from site to site, I came across a few retro swimsuits (which can be found on LAVintage.com) that are absolutely adorable! They're not exactly great for laying out and tanning but they're definitely great for times when you want to walk/swim/bike at the beach or for times when you just want to turn a few heads!

Hot Hot Summer!

I can feel the hot summer weather creeping up and I already know that the heat will make it unbearable to wear anything more than a tank and shorts or a simple summer dress! Surprisingly, I found myself in an Itsola romper this past Saturday and not only are they super comfortable, but they are quite flattering as well! Rompers have been in for a while and I've always thought they looked really cute but I never thought that I could ever pull one off. So if you don't own one yet, I would definitely suggest that you go out and get one this summer! California Gurls

Every time Katy Perry steps on a red carpet, she never fails to amaze me! Although I'm not a fan of the blue hair, she always knows how to stand out and make a statement with everything she wears.


For the past few days, I have not been able to go a day without listening to her new single "California Gurls," because it is honestly one of the best summertime anthems! As I was watching her walk down the red carpet during Sunday's MTV Movie Awards, I got a glimpse at her new video and I absolutely loved her crazy and bold fashion choices!

Little White Dress

This past weekend I finally watched 'Sex and the City 2' and the movie makes me crave a new wardrobe! The opening scene shows Carrie in a white v-neck dress by Halston Heritage. Although Carrie's dress may be a little pricey, I think a simple white dress is the perfect dress to have for the summer, whether it's for a walk around the mall, a trip to the beach, or a nice tropical vacation!
